An Organizational Behaviour Case Study - What will you do, if you were the Boss?

Bhavin is a team leader of a sales team. Nearly fifteen people report to him. Ramesh, one of them, is a very loyal, engaged and committed employee. He is generally very professional and punctual in completing all the tasks assigned to him. Even the clients are generally delighted with his service - he tries to solve them problems as fast as possible. He equally effective. Once it so happened that Ramesh was engaged in some personal work (which was critical). Bhavin was fully aware about it and had been very supportive to Ramesh. Ramesh was officially on leave because of the same.  A potentially profitable client (Let us call her Disha) called Ramesh. Ramesh didn't receive Disha's calls more than once, because of above mentioned condition. That annoyed Disha thinking that Ramesh was not sincere in his work. When Ramesh called back to her, she said that she didn't like his attitude (of not accepting her repeated calls). Ramesh felt very sorry about it. He knew t

“A Case Study of Business Ethics”

“A Case Study of Business Ethics” (For teaching notes, please contact me on pvariya@gmail.com) Pathik B. Variya pvariya@gmail.com  An MBBS – named – Dr. Mehra – was with a very reputed hospital of Trichi for last seven years. His performance feedback was exceptional and he had received many promotions during this tenure. Prior to joining this hospital, he was the student of medicine in a reputed University and his behavior and performance as student were also quite laudable. He was an excellent student with very good academic track record. His father was a renowned scientist. Dr Mehra was also involved in a lot of social activities apart from his job. The hospital he was serving was also a name to recon with in the society. It had set high standards of employee ethical behavior and it was known to follow its ethical code of conduct “in toto”. In the past, the Chief Medical Officer of the company was heavily fined (financially) when one of his actions had violated the code o

Khodiyar Maata...

The Bravest Warrior of War of The Mahabharata "Baliyadev"

I was recently surprised to learn that many of us (including me at times, of course) do not know a lot of things about the Indian religious scriptures (The Hindu Scriptures by and large). I don't like the word mythology. It is derogatory and fails to convey the true spirit of the great scriptures like The Ramayana and The Mahabharata.  It gave an idea to write some blogs on certain unknown aspects of the great Hindu religion. Mind you, I am not, neither do I claim to be, an expert of The Hinduism. But yes, my curiosity and compilation should allow me to write a reasonably valid piece of text on these aspects.  So, today, I have decided to write an introduction of a character called "Baliyadev" from The Mahabharata.  He is  also known as Khatushyam / Barbaric / Barbarik / Belarsen / Akash Bhairav / Yalambar / Lakha-Datari etc.  Now, the problem for Lord Krisha was that the army of the Kauravas was definitely more powerful than that of the Pandavas. So, He was
